What Happened?

As my jokester uncle always said at the end of a family gathering,

“It’s been real, and it’s been nice…

…but it hasn’t been real nice.”

Please bow your heads and help us mourn the loss of a very dear friend of ours: the controversial, informational, funsational PageFights.

That’s right: it’s gone. Dead.

Sayanara. Adios, amigos.

When I got the Twitter DM from Oli at Unbounce telling me Pagefights was over, I admit I thought he was just looking for attention. Joking. Pulling my leg.

I didn’t believe him that it was really over until I watched the video.

PageFights is Over (*sob*)

‘Tis a sad day, indeed. I for one LOVED PageFights — especially the brutally candid tips, advice and utter heart-wrenching opinions of the judges. Hell, that’s what made PageFights what it was: a no-holds-barred live event in which you could glean expert advice on how to make your landing pages better.

Oh, and the best part? It was FREE.

Sure, if you submitted a landing page to PageFights like we did you most likely got your ass handed to you…

…by CRO experts who know their shit.

Trust me, there are worse things than being bluntly told you can do better. Which makes me mad that one of the reasons PageFights has been disbanded is because some people hated it.

Who these people are — and why they’re so thin-skinned — is a mystery to me. Be that as it may, Unbounce has decided to take their efforts in a new direction. I can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with next!

To quote Peep in his parting comment:

“I’ll miss pissing on your websites.”

Me too, Peep. Me too.
