How It All Began

Define: networking.

A few months ago we put on a PPC landing pages webinar for insurance agents (through Agency Nation). An attendee of that webinar was Jacob Grant, the social media director for the Independent Insurance Agents of New Mexico (IIANM).

All of a sudden we were in conversation with Jacob regarding digital marketing services. He told us about the annual IIANM convention and trade show in New Mexico in September…

…and since we’re a preferred vendor of TrustedChoice.com, we decided to make the trek westward to participate in the IIANM’s 81st annual convention and trade show at the Isleta Resort and Casino in Albuquerque.

As Gabe Portillo, IIANM 2015 Chair of the Board stated,

“This event is widely considered as one of the premiere insurance gatherings in the region.”

As such, we were proud to be involved as a digital marketing exhibitor — joining 64 other brands offering various services — at the Mega Trade Show.

At the IIANM Trade Show

Clint, our Chief Marketing Officer and founder, along with Mary, our Account Manager, spent the trade show informing the 350+ of attendees of how responsive web design, PPC and SEO services work together to increase online lead generation.

For the past year, ThinkSEM has been diving into the insurance realm and we’ve got many happy web clients. But Clint and Mary weren’t just all talk, though. They put their words into action and offered up a new website to one lucky insurance agent or company attending the trade show!

A Drawing For a FREE Website???

To that end, they collected a myriad of business cards to enter into the drawing. The winner didn’t even need to be present — it was a Friday afternoon, after all — so at the end of the day they drew the winning card…

… and it was Liz Reyna’s insurance agency, Tusker Insurance!

We’re so happy to be able to work with this agent and implement the best practices talked about that day at the trade show:

  1. Ensuring your website is accessible across all devices
  2. Structuring content to attract — and keep! — organic traffic
  3. Leading your visitors to the ultimate goal of the website (i.e., conversions)

We look forward to working on Liz’s new web presence (and wordmark)! We’re excited to see how our responsive, lead generation-focused layout will help her convert more web visitors into clients.

And, last but not least, we’d like to give a shout-out to a couple of the IIANM people who helped make the event such a great experience for us.

Many Thanks

First, we’d like to thank Thom Turbett, an executive board member of IIANM. He was so welcoming and stopped by the ThinkSEM booth several times to exchange pleasantries.

Thank you, Thom, for your conviviality!

Also, thanks to Consuelo Trujillo, the COO of IIANM, our contact on the ground in New Mexico who helped coordinate the success of our attendance at this great event.

Thank you, Consuelo, for answering all our questions!

Last, we’d like to offer our thanks to IIANM itself, for hosting us at such a wonderful event!
